Bàs Slaodach is a reworking of the instrumental tracks behind Willy Mason's 2021 album Already Dead, as imagined by album producer Noel Heroux. Already Dead being a densely packed sonic collaboration between Noel and Willy, Bas Slaodach is a fractal exploration of this density, delving deep into stretched time and tone and finding previously unnoticed ambience thrown to the forefront with surprising cohesion and narrative. Embodying a sludgy heaviness that is yet nimble and at times sneakily humorous, it is both an ambient accompaniment to the darkly uplifting album it is derived from and a stand alone soundtrack to the monotony of infinite collapse, full of love and bitterness and the groans of overworked infrastructure.
